EUCTL GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2024: INSIGHTS ON ESPR AND NEWS ON MEMBERSHIP

The 4th General Assembly of EUCTL took place on May 8th, held as a web conference. More than 30 participants were joining, including guests from the value chain such as ETAD (The Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers) and Cotance (Confederation of National Associations of Tanners and Dressers of the European Community).
The public part focused on the upcoming Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) the topics ESPR and DPP and how they influence the market. Two guest speakers went into detail here: Ms Dunja Drmac, CEFIC, informed about the Regulation part and called for early participation and cooperation within the value chain. Mr Andres Alcayaga, CIRPASS, gave interesting information on the Digital Product Passport, the new IT instrument that will be used to transfer along the value chains the information requested by ESPR. EUCTL Secretariat rounded out the topic with some insights in the concrete implications for the chemical companies represented by EUCTL. A lively discussion followed and showed the huge effects on the represented EUCTL members and the deep concerns on upcoming legislative requirements.
In its internal part, joined by members only, Mr Michele Scarpellini was officially introduced as new EUCTL Vice President. The Spanish association AEPSAT was approved as “special member” from May – December 2024.
